KQ Liverpool's 10th Anniversary Fundraiser
Over the past decade, Knowledge Quarter Liverpool (KQ Liverpool) has grown significantly, marking a number of key milestones along the way. This year, to mark our iconic 10th year, we are delighted to announced a series of ten major events and fundraising initiatives.
FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES
Among the planned fundraising activities will be a long-distance, endurance challenge taken on by our CEO, Colin Sinclair, who will be running from the Lake District to Liverpool!
The 100+ mile route, equivalent to three consecutive ultramarathons, will pave the way for Stage 2 of next year's Tour de France. Colin’s monumental journey, on foot, will start as the riders will in Keswick, finishing in the KQ Liverpool innovation district at the iconic Spine building. So where Colin goes in September 2026, the Tour de France follows in July 2027!
Other members of the KQ Liverpool team will also be undertaking various activities, including sponsored abseils, organising raffles, and hosting cake sales throughout the year, with all proceeds being split equally between our three chosen charities for this year - all of whom support local children, young people and their families.
The 'ten for ten' campaign follows hot on the heels of our previous fundraising efforts in 2025, which centered around Colin running a double-marathon across the Liverpool City Region in a single day, raising nearly £17,000 (incl gift aid) for six charities working with children and young people here in Liverpool.
Meet this year's Charities:
THE BRAIN CHARITY
The Brain Charity offers emotional support, practical help and social activities to anyone with a neurological condition, and to their family, friends, and carers, with bespoke activities for those aged 3-18 years old.
CLATTERBRIDGE CANCER CHARITY
Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is the only dedicated charity supporting patients and research at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. As one of the UK’s leading cancer centres, it provides highly specialist cancer care to a population of 2.4m across Merseyside, Cheshire and beyond, including many young people aged 16-25.
ALFIE’S SQUAD
Alfie’s Squad is the UK’s only charity providing face-to-face peer support for children and young people, aged 6-17, bereaved by suicide. Young members and their families feel understood, less alone, and supported after the loss of a loved one to suicide.
THANK YOU
Thank you for taking time to read this. We are incredibly grateful for your support in raising as much money as possible for these deserving charities – no matter how big or small.
