Aberdeen Science Centre (ASC) has made science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) learning accessible, engaging and enjoyable for people of all ages and backgrounds for 38 years.
Across North East Scotland, many children, young people and adults face barriers to accessing inspiring STEM experiences. In Aberdeen City, over 20% of people live in some of Scotland's most deprived communities, while in rural Aberdeenshire distance, transport and limited local provision can restrict access to educational opportunities.
With positive, hands-on experiences of STEM, children, young people and adults develop confidence in STEM subjects, continue into further learning, or consider STEM-related careers.
Each year, ASC engages more than 63,000 people through public, schools and community programmes, as well as outreach activity across the region. Through over 65 interactive exhibits, workshops and activities, we help people explore STEM subjects and build valuable skills and understanding.
