It's all uphill from here.....

It's all uphill from here.....

Chris Goodall

This year I've chosen a couple of challenging sporting events to hopefully raise awareness and funds towards two charities that are close to my heart.

Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis: we lost June back in 2018 to this horrible disease, slowly limiting breathing and without cure. She is missed by all of us - Louise, Kelly, her grandchildren, her son-in-laws (Steve & I) and our wider family.

The Multiple System Atrophy Trust: George Hatchard passed away in November 2024 after battling MSA for a number of years. A neurodegenerative brain disease which is relatively unknown, making diagnosis hard. George's loving 'girls' (Jen, Rachael, Diggy and Wren) have been busy fundraising in other ways, so I'd like 50% of this to go to support MSA in George's memory.

The challenges:

26 April 2025 - I'm taking part in the annual Mallorca 312 cycling race. I'll be riding the full 312km (200 mile) course with 4,500 metres of climbing through Mallorca's stunning (and steep!) mountains. The goal: finish in 12 hours (there’s a 14-hour cut-off). I’ve been training hard for the past six months, averaging around 250km a week on the bike.

29 June 2025 - Ironman Nice 70.3 - 1.2 mile sea swim, 56 mile bike (up mountains again!) and a half marathon along the Promenade des Anglais in the sunshine (30+ degrees!).

Anything you can spare to donate would be greatly appreciated and will help spur me on for these great charities.

Thanks
Chris x
