On Tuesday 29th July 2025 I will be climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge to raise money for the MS Society and North Clwyd Animal Rescue. Both of which are amazing charities.
The Sydney Harbour Bridge used around 53,000 tons of steel when it was constructed. Its total length is about 1149 metres, and the top of the bridge stands a massive 134 metres above the harbour (which looks really high). It carries eight lanes of traffic and two rail lines and there is also a cycleway for bikes and a walkway for pedestrians.
I will be taking part in a fully guided tour along the upper arch of the bridge all the way to the Summit experiencing panoramic 360-degree views of Sydney as well as the water below. After a celebratory moment at the Summit, I will cross over the top of the bridge to the west side to begin the descent back to the Bridge Climb Base (with jelly legs). This will take approximately 2 hours and will be around 1332 steps. This is something I have never done before and will be pushing myself out of my comfort zone – wish me luck xx
