As many of you will know I spent 2024 walking from the source of the River Thames at Kemble in the Cotswolds to the Thames Barrier near Woolwich, a distance of approximately 185 miles. I undertook this to challenge myself and also as a training walk prior to undertaking the Welsh Camino / North Wales Pilgrim’s Way, a distance of 135 miles (with a few more hills) in 2025.
In 2024 many people asked me if I was being sponsored for charity, so this year I have decided to nominate two charities to raise funds for. I have been closely involved with both and it is to them that I owe the good health that I have today.
The first is St Paul’s Church, East Molesey and the second is the Fountain Centre, Guildford.
St Paul’s Church is our local church and does a lot of outreach with the community.
The Fountain Centre is a charity located at the Royal Surrey County Hospital working to support cancer patients and their carers with counselling and alternative therapies.
