Hi, I'm Sally... a 40 year, old full-time working mum of two young kids, who set herself an extreme charity challenge about a year ago. Now, with only 8 weeks to go my focus is on raising as much awareness and sponsorship for the worthy charities I am supporting - whilst still juggling life, training, kids, work and everything else... help me please!
The challenge is to complete 5 Olympic Triathlons over 5 Consecutive Days in 5 Different Locations. This equates to 7.5km swimming, 200km cycling and 50km running. I will be travelling by the power of my body and determination of my mind for 51.5km every day (more than a marathon).
Inspired by my mum's incredible bravery through her journey with breast cancer, the challenge is an ode to dad (and mum). My dad passed away nearly 10 years ago to cancer. I'm motivated by my wonderful friends, of whom too many are living with cancer and Alzheimer's impacting their lives, to try my hardest and do all I can to make a difference.
The locations: each are special to my parents holding different memories1. Hathersage, Peak District - 1 Sept2. Kirby Lonsdale, Yorkshire Dales - 2 Sept3. Mussleburgh, Edinburgh - 3 Sept4. Druridge Bay, Northumberland - 4 Sept5. Gateshead, Newcastle Upon Tyne - 5 Sept
