It’s been bit of a slow start for us at Aventur Teylu this year for many reasons, but….. we’re so excited to announce that we have something planned for 2023! We are going to be riding from lands end in Cornwall to John o Groats in Scotland, unsupported on our bikes using (mostly) the Sustrans LEJOG route!
This will involve carrying everything we need for the 1197 miles. We’re planning to set off on the 5th April 2023 and take 8-10 weeks, aiming for an average of 20miles a day meaning we can explore the areas we pass through and also give enough recovery time for everyone! We plan to use a mixture of campsites, wild camping, hotels, pods, cabins, anything really to mix it up and give a little comfort to Liam & Sophia, although I expect that it will us parents needing the comfort more!
Now although completing this trip without the pressure of raising money, would have made life simpler, it wouldn’t have sat easy with us wasting such an opportunity. So we have chosen four charities that mean something to us all. We have chosen these charities based on major events where we have been impacted in life for all four of us, and the charities have been their to help.
It’s become far to common in life to be affected in some way by Cancer, and we are no different, it payed our family a visit and took Mum/Nanny away from us far to soon. With this in mind we have chosen Cornwall Hospice, after there support at St Julia’s Hospice & Marie Curie for their support & care.
The children have chosen Penhaligons Friends for their support to during that time and also with other bereavements and they are always there I’d we need them.
Now some of you may or may not know that Lea and Ben are both ex Royal Navy and so we have chosen the Veterans Association as our fourth charity for their amazing work in supporting the armed forces community.
There will be a host of other information coming over the following weeks, so keep an eye out on Instagram. Aventur_Teylu is our Instagram and YouTube name.

We will be updating this so you can follow our progress and come and say hello, and no doubt there will be the odd shout for help.
We will also be carrying a donations bucket and card reader making it easy to donate whilst we are on the road.
