Revolent and Mason Frank have joined forces with Salesforce and its partners to host a 15km Charity Trailblazer Trek around London, to help make a difference and give back to the world. We look forward to joining you for an unforgettable day on Thursday, 26th September 2024.
Last year’s event saw us raise over £35,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust, St. Martin’s School and BIGKID Foundation—with a 15km walk taking in some memorable sights around the capital during a day to remember.
The charities we are supporting and raising funds for this year are St. Martins School in Kenya, Cure Leukaemia and Mind.
St Martins School
Situated in one of the poorest slums in Nairobi, St. Martin’s School offers children a safe environment where they can eat, learn and play, empowering them to build a better future. Since 1992 its many programs have helped transform the lives of its students, with some moving on to further education and creating incredible opportunities for themselves in the world of work.
The school also operates a community empowerment scheme, to help children beyond the confines of the school. This empowers the pupils’ mothers to be able to support themselves and their families. With no government funding and most pupils unable to pay school fees, the organisation heavily relies on donations to continue to exist. Funds being raised at the moment are being used to offer even more opportunities, as St. Martin’s looks to build a new secondary school for local boys.
Cure Leukaemia
We Hate that one person is diagnosed with a form of blood cancer every 27 seconds across the world – with one person diagnosed every 14 minutes in the UK. Blood cancer is non-discriminatory affecting all genders, ethnicities and ages with 250,000 people currently living with a form of blood cancer in the UK.
Founded in 2003 by Professor Charlie Craddock CBE and patients Graham Silk and Michael Wooley, Cure Leukaemia is a progressive national blood cancer charity, which funds the Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP) Network, which consists of specialist research nurses across the UK.
The TAP Network enables the rapid setup, recruitment to and delivery of blood cancer clinical trials giving patients from a UK catchment area of over 30 million people access to potentially lifesaving treatments not currently available through standard care. Without our Research Nurses, clinical trials do not happen. Our Research Nurses help connect patients to potentially lifesaving medicine and their role in administering these trials is vital to developing effective new treatments for blood cancers.
However, the same network does not exist for children who require a stem cell transplant and cell therapy.
Mind
We're fighting for mental health. For support. For respect. For you. Over the last few years we've come a long way. But there's still more to be done. The focus of our strategy is on supporting the people disproportionately affected by mental health issues. People from racialised communities, young people, and people living in poverty.
Mental health is not hidden any more; it’s on the front pages; it’s on the political agenda; it’s spoken about by royalty. For millions of people, mental health is now something to be honest about – not ashamed of.
The Mind community has been at the heart of this transformation. Together, we’ve shown what mental health really looks like, what support makes it better, and what needs to change.
