London to Amsterdam Cycle Ride

A new journey begins! Today I am launching 🚀a campaign named #youaregoodenough

I would like to kindly encourage your charitable donations by taking on the physical challenge of cycling 🚴‍♂️ 448km from London to Amsterdam📍

The campaign is deeply personal to me as a parent. It aims to support young persons that are neurodivergent 🧠 (e.g. Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism) or suffering from mental health 🧘challenges or possibly both. However, we are all neurodiverse in some way (i.e. hold a unique brain), and I feel sure this campaign will resonate 🤜🤛🏻 and impact a wider audience than just young persons, including adults and especially parents. Maybe you experienced bullying at school for a particular difference, or simply just didn’t feel like you ‘fit in’ in some way.

It’s a strange thing that one of the hardest things in life is to be yourself. We often live in fear or shame 😔 that showing our true selves will reveal that we don’t ‘fit in’. There is a societal perception that we all must somehow conform to a norm or a trend 📈And when we don’t, we are the odd one out. And for many, the feeling of not conforming to a norm or trend, fighting against our individuality, is a huge effort and costs not only mental health 🧘, but physical health too 🩺

The greatest gift 🎁 we can give young people today is to know they are good enough, to embrace their individuality and to know their differences, the things that make them unique, are their greatest strength.

Thank you 🙏 to my family, friends and work colleagues who have encouraged me to launch this campaign and take on the cycling challenge. I am forever grateful that you cheer me on the good days, support me on the bad days, and humble me to know that everyday is a new learning day.

Each £1 donation you make 👏 will be matched ‼️ by £1 doubling your contribution up to the £10k target, thanks to the generosity of my employer Aviva 🙏 for an important cause. I am seeking to secure more matching sponsors, so wish me luck and watch this space 🔜 and please give generously as the matching sponsorship will make your money go further! The funds will go to three amazing charities supporting neurodivergence and mental health - Young Minds, ADHD Foundation and Kisharon Langdon (the organiser of the cycle ride).

Thank you for your support.
