Remembering Sadie

On 14 September, our beautiful daughter, Sadie, was born. Sadly, after spending 11 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Sadie passed away. Although our time with her was short, she was loved beyond words, and we will be forever grateful for the care, kindness and support we received during those 11 days.
We are raising money for The Sick Children’s Trust and Addenbrooke's/Rosie Hospital (ACT), two charities that supported us during the most difficult and heartbreaking time of our lives. We hope that by raising funds in Sadie’s memory, we can help these charities continue to support other families facing similar circumstances.
Throughout Sadie’s time in NICU, the incredible staff at the Rosie Hospital cared for her with much compassion and dedication. They did everything they could for Sadie and supported us as parents every step of the way. We will always be grateful to them.
The Sick Children’s Trust provided us with accommodation at the hospital, something that was truly invaluable. Having somewhere that close to stay meant we could remain close to Sadie throughout her time in NICU and spend as much time with her as possible.
On the night Sadie passed away, having this accommodation meant we could get to her side quickly and hold her in her final moments. Without the support of The Sick Children’s Trust, this would not have been possible.
Both charities provide vital support to families going through incredibly difficult experiences, and we want to help ensure that other parents can receive the same care, comfort and practical support. In lieu of flowers or gifts for Sadie’s funeral, we kindly ask that anyone who wishes to do so makes a donation in her memory. All donations will be split between The Sick Children’s Trust and ACT, helping them continue the incredible work they do for families when they need it most.
Thank you to everyone already for your kindness, generosity and support. We are so grateful to everyone who has thought of us, reached out to us and helped us through this incredibly difficult time.
