⭐ This year changed my life.
There was a moment when everything felt frightening and uncertain, and yet a quiet sentence surfaced: “I will be fine.” It became my anchor through treatment, recovery, and the long road back to myself.
Two people made that possible - my surgeon and my oncologist. Their skill saved my life. Their compassion carried me through the hardest moments. When I asked how I could ever thank them, they didn’t talk about themselves. They talked about the charities that make their work possible.
So on December 15th 2026, I’m taking on a challenge rooted in gratitude.
I will write a leadership book in three days - live, publicly, and with purpose - to raise money for the charities they chose. This is my way of turning the hardest year of my life into something that helps others.
Three days of writing. A lifetime of gratitude.
⭐ Why These Charities Matter
Make 2nds Count
Make 2nds Count supports people living with secondary breast cancer - a diagnosis that often receives far less awareness and funding than it should. They provide research, education, and vital patient support so no one faces this journey alone. Their work is close to the hearts of the clinicians who treated me, and now it’s close to mine too.
Leicester Hospitals Charity
Leicester Hospitals Charity funds essential equipment, research, and patient support services across Leicester’s hospitals - including the teams who cared for me. When you’re facing the hardest moments of your life, you realise how much these teams give. This charity helps them do even more for patients and families who need it most.
⭐ Why I’m Asking for Your Support
This challenge isn’t about writing fast.
It’s about writing with purpose.
It’s about gratitude.
It’s about giving back to the people and organisations who helped me say, “I will be fine,” and believe it.
Every donation - big or small - will help these charities continue their life‑changing work.
Every pound will support patients, families, clinicians, and communities.
Every act of generosity will help me turn this year into something meaningful.
Thank you for supporting this challenge and the charities at the heart of it.
