Christmas Eve Tractor Run

🚜 How it all started… 🚛
Rewind to 2021 and Tom asked his boys what they wanted for Christmas.. they said a tractor run. Tom couldn’t do it alone so asked Julia what she thought. This was 1 week before Christmas and Julia said yeah let’s do it… The team only had days to organise.
The first tractor run had 25 tractors and fundraising £1365.00 for The British Heart Foundation after Julia’s other half Chris Greenwood passed away suddenly from a heart attack.
2nd year again we fundraised for The British Heart Foundation. That year we had 65 tractors and raising £3419.42
3rd Year we changed the charity to a local one “Candlelighters” 152 tractors lit up the valley and raised a big £12.824.69
4th year we went big. Our route changed slightly and we included Walsden. The team worked incredibly hard to put this tractor run together. Due to a major issue 1 week before Xmas meant we had a big diversion via Littleborough and over Blackstone Edge and dropping down to Cragg Vale (worked out massively for us) we had a massive 251 tractors, we also had over 60 volunteers including, traffic marshals, bucket collectors & escort drivers involved. Our charity this year was Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and our total was £35.174.95.
5th year, No divisions last year and sticking with last years route as the previous year because it worked amazingly well. The team worked incredibly hard to put together another fantastic tractor run. 2025 we fundraised a massive £25.141.35 for Candlelighters & Forget Me Not splitting the proceeds equally between both charities. Last year we had more volunteers helping including over 120 bucket collection volunteers up and down the valley. Introducing quiet zones for the first time went down a treat.
6th Year speaks volumes. The charities we choose this year are as the same Candlelighters & Forget me not. What these 2 charities do is amazing but how they keep it going with the costs is hard to believe. They have let us into their world of support and we will be sharing part of this on our socials as they have agreed. So take a journey with us, help us keep them running, putting a smile and hope in families with children who desperately need the help.
