Stephen’s bike ride across the USA

This Summer, I have taken on the challenge of cycling across the USA from Portland, Oregon on the West coast to Portland, Maine on the East coast! Across 47 days and 15 states, a group of us, supported by Trek Travel, will face the Rocky Mountains, the Great Plains of the Midwest and skirt the edges of the Great Lakes to reach the Atlantic Ocean. Covering 3,800 miles with a total of 47,000 metres of elevation, this is the toughest bike ride I will have ever done and I look forward to the adventure!

During this, I have decided to raise money for two charities that have become important to me over the past year. Firstly, I have the chosen British Heart Foundation as both my father and father-in-law have experienced heart issues in recent months. This charity has helped to support us through these difficult times and work to fund cardiovascular research into pacemaker and defibrillator technology, both which have benefitted our families.


In addition, I am also looking to raise money for the Brain Tumour Charity after losing a close colleague to their battle with brain cancer. This charity provides crucial support to patients and their families as they navigate life-changing news whilst also contributing to pioneering research into this devastating disease.
