200 Miles to Congress - Cycling for Two Incredible Charities

In April 2027, four Board Members of the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI) will take on an extraordinary challenge to celebrate the ADI's 40th Anniversary while raising vital funds for two charities that make a real difference to people's lives.

Our team - Dr Andrew Little, Dr Adam Bzeu, Dr Amit Mistry and Dr Kasia Gurzawska - will cycle over 200 miles from Northern Ireland to Liverpool, arriving at the ADI Team Congress by bicycle.

Setting off on Tuesday 13 April 2027, the team will cover the route from Banbridge to Dublin, before crossing the Irish Sea by ferry to Holyhead. After using the ferry crossing as an opportunity to rest and recover, they will complete the final leg of their journey to Liverpool's King's Dock, arriving in the city late on Wednesday afternoon.

Following a well-earned night's rest, the cyclists will make their official arrival at the ADI Team Congress on the morning of Thursday 15 April 2027, where they will be welcomed as Congress opens. It promises to be a memorable way to launch the ADI's 40th Anniversary Congress and celebrate the completion of an incredible challenge.

The ride is expected to cover more than 200 miles and involve approximately 24-30 hours of cycling, depending on ferry schedules and weather conditions.


Why are we doing this?
This challenge is about far more than cycling 200 miles. It is about raising awareness, supporting two remarkable charities and promoting the importance of both physical and mental wellbeing.

As the ADI celebrates 40 years of advancing education in implant dentistry, we wanted to mark this milestone by giving something back and supporting causes that are close to our hearts and to the wider dental community.


Supporting Two Incredible Charities
Young Lives vs Cancer - every day, children and young people across the UK face the unimaginable challenge of cancer.
Young Lives vs Cancer provides practical, emotional and financial support to children, young people and their families, helping them navigate one of the most difficult journeys imaginable. This charity is especially close to our hearts, with cyclist Dr Adam Bzeu proudly serving as an ambassador.

The Dental Health Support Trust provides confidential support to members of the dental profession experiencing mental health difficulties, stress, burnout, addiction and other personal challenges.

In a wonderful coincidence, the Trust is also celebrating its 40th anniversary, making this partnership especially meaningful alongside the ADI's own milestone year.

Every donation will be divided equally between these two fantastic charities.


Our Target
Our initial fundraising target is £10,000, although with the support of the dental profession, corporate sponsors, friends, family and the public, we hope to raise considerably more.

Every donation - no matter how large or small - will make a genuine difference to the lives of young people affected by cancer and to members of the dental profession who need support during difficult times.
