Jeremy Soutter & Guy Opperman TAM Charity Ride 2026

On 17 September, Guy Opperman and I will be representing Carne alongside colleagues and friends from across the asset management industry on a three-day, 360km cycle ride from Vienna to Budapest in support of Action Medical Research. It is work we promise you – over 100 potential and actual clients all suffering together

For those who know me, you'll know that 360km over three days is never going to be completely straightforward. However, I'm planning to do it on my mechanical bike rather than my e-bike, which probably won't help.

For those of you that know Guy who has been working with us for the last six months and is the ex-UK Pensions Minister, just conjure up a fat ex steeplechase jockey, now on a bike and you’re about there, so this will be a big challenge for Guy too.

We are also concerned that we are going past some of the best beer halls in eastern Europe, which may impeded our smooth progress in the peloton.

The TAM Charity Ride is an annual European cycling event that brings together the wealth and asset management community to support worthwhile causes. Now in its sixth year, over 100 riders will cover 360km in three days, with the collective aim of raising £100,000 for Action Medical Research, a UK charity dedicated to saving and changing children’s lives through ground-breaking medical research.

Every donation helps this fantastic charity continue its vital work and would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you for your support.
