Snap Fitness Martlesham Heath - Dunwich Heath Fire Appeal

Walking for Dunwich Heath
At Snap Fitness Martlesham Heath, we believe in supporting our local community, and that extends beyond people to the incredible places that make Suffolk so special.
Recently, Dunwich Heath was devastated by one of the largest wildfires the county has ever experienced. Around 150 hectares of rare heathland, equivalent to more than 200 football pitches, were destroyed. More than 100 firefighters worked tirelessly alongside specialist teams to bring the fire under control. Sadly, experts believe it could take decades for parts of this unique landscape to recover.
Dunwich Heath is far more than a beautiful place to visit. Cared for by the National Trust, it is home to rare wildlife, including nightjars, Dartford warblers, woodlarks and many other species that depend on this nationally important habitat for their survival. It is a place that thousands of local people and visitors enjoy every year, making the loss felt across our community.
As a local business, we wanted to do something to help.
Our Club Manager, Asha, will be taking on a 12-hour walking challenge inside the gym to raise money for Dunwich Heath's recovery. Every step will be dedicated to helping restore one of Suffolk's most treasured landscapes.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will go towards supporting the National Trust's recovery efforts and help protect this special place for future generations.
If you've ever walked across the heath, admired its wildlife or simply enjoyed the peace and beauty it offers, we hope you'll join us in supporting this cause.
Together, we can help Dunwich Heath take its first steps towards recovery. Thank you for your support.
