Longest Radio Interview World Record Attempt w/ Jamie Skinner and Meg Abernethy-Hope

On Saturday 12th (and hopefully Sunday 13th) September Jamie Skinner and Meg Abernethy-Hope will be sitting down for a very long 31+ hour chat, in the hope of breaking the Guinness World Record for Longest Radio Interview. Tune in via Somer Valley FM - https://somervalleyfm.co.uk/ - from 9am on the 12th to hear them cover a wide range of topics with increasing attempts to have them make sense as the hours go on.

Throughout the broadcast money will be raised for the pair's chosen charities; homelessness and social outreach charity BillyChip (selected by Meg) and youth mental health charity Beyond (chosen by Jamie). The total raised will be split evenly between both charities.

Beyond is a youth mental health charity tackling the growing mental health crisis affecting young people in the UK - around 1 in 5 are facing a diagnosable mental health condition. Striving to address the lack of access to mental health support and create opportunities for early and personalised interventions via 1:1 support directly in schools and Now And Beyond platform of workshops and lesson material. Beyond's vision is "a world where every young person has equitable access to effective mental health support at the right moment, allowing them to lead fulfilling lives and reach their full potential." You can find more about them here - https://wearebeyond.org.uk/

BillyChip is a homelessness charity providing a safe and secure currency, in the form of BillyChip tokens. These can be purchased for £2 and given to someone living on the streets, who can then redeem it in any participating outlet for a hot or cold drink, and in some places food and pet food. Any profits made by BillyChip go to supporting other like-minded homeless and community outreach charities. With the words "You're fabulous and don't you ever forget it" written on each chip compassion, kindness and connection are at the heart of the charity. Meg Abernethy-Hope is an actor, model and co-founder of BillyChip. A Diana Award recipient for her work with the charity, set up in memory of her late brother, Billy; Meg has given talks at many events including TEDx. Acting-wise, she's starred in Doctor Who, and is determined to be "a ray of freaking sunshine!"

Jamie Skinner is an idiot whose latest crisis has seen him try to put together a World Record attempt. He rambles about films, and assorted nonsense, on the radio; and sometimes in person and writing. He also hosts a podcast about mental health and shelves (The Mental Health Shelf).
