Team Austin take on Ben Nevis
19260
We will be taking on the challenge of climbing the UK's highest mountain to raise funds for two causes close to our hearts.
The Holocaust Educational Trust (HET) teaches people of all backgrounds about the Holocaust and anti-Jewish racism, prejudice and hatred today. We chose this charity because our dad/grandad, Fred Austin, was a refugee who came to England to escape Nazi persecution in Czechoslovakia at just 10 years old. We (Jack and Meg) have volunteered/worked with HET over the years.
St Peter's Hospice is charity based in Bristol that provides free adult hospice care for everyone that needs their support. From those diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, to those that care for and about them, St Peter's Hospice has been providing tailored and holistic care to those in need in the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset area for over 40 years. Meg works in the Community Fundraising Team at St Peter's Hospice.
This photo shows us with our dad and grandad outside the building in Ostrava in the Czech Republic where he lived before coming to the UK in 1939.
Thank you for your support.
