Welcome to the 2nd Surrey Public Sector Challenge fundraising page!
Staff from all Surrey councils are invited to join the second Surrey Public Sector Challenge on Saturday 26 September and walk either 15 or 8 miles across the North Downs for charity.
The Surrey Public Sector Challenge 2026 route is similar to 2025, but we'll be taking on the extra challenge of walking up Box Hill. Walkers can choose between two options: a 15‑mile circular walk starting and finishing at Reigate Castle Grounds, or a shorter 8‑mile route starting or ending at Box Hill. Walkers who prefer to avoid the climb up Box Hill can choose to finish in Dorking and take the train back to Reigate or elsewhere.
It won't cost you anything to sign up, but you'll be invited to fundraise in support of Cancer Research UK (CRUK) and the British Heart Foundation. You'll also receive a Surrey Public Sector Challenge T-shirt and a free tea / coffee at the end of the walk.
In 2025, over 140 colleagues from across Surrey councils signed up raising an incredible £9,000 for these two fantastic charities.
We had a blast last year, and it's a great opportunity to come together for a good cause, and get to know your colleagues across all Surrey councils!
More info coming soon. Good luck with your fundraising!
