24 Hours in Farming - Big Farm Walk
18106
In early July, the Farmers Guardian team pushed themselves to their absolute limits — walking over 40 miles in just 24 hours through heat, exhaustion, and complete darkness. They walked continuously for 24 hours, 7am - 7am.
But it wasn't just about the time they were walking - every step was taken for something bigger: supporting the mental health of those in farming, and helping children experience the countryside for the very first time.
Farmers Guardian editor Katie Jones took part in the walk.
She said: "I am so proud of the team and those who took part in the walk. It was a pretty tough 24 hours, especially in the heat, but the focus was raising money for really worthy causes, and I hope we have managed to raise some awareness of two important topics within agriculture."
Farming is an industry built on strength and resilience, but behind that, many face silent struggles. At the same time, a generation of young people are growing up without ever truly understanding where their food comes from.
Through this challenge, the team wanted to change that.
Your donation can help someone feel less alone. It can help a child discover a future they never imagined.
Please give what you can - because together, we can make sure no one in our farming community is left behind, and inspire the next generation to find their place within it. All funds raised will be shared between Yellow Wellies, supported through Len’s Light, and Farms For City Children - helping to protect lives within farming and open the countryside to those who may never otherwise experience it.
