Four years ago, I finished a multi-day cycle ride on the 'La Loire à Vélo' route at the beautiful city of Tours. Soon after, I developed a medical problem which ultimate resulted in urgent surgery which left me with a Stoma. I've been so blessed with the initial care and the lack of any need for ongoing support that I want to raise funds to help those whose stoma journey has not been so easy - so I am picking up my cycle ride from Tours, and heading for the ferry home from Caen, initially on more of the 'La Loire à Vélo' route, and then on the 'La Vélo Francette' route from Angers to Ouistreham (Caen) Ferry Port - a total of about 450km (about 280 miles) in seven days of cycling.
I will be 70 in November and am not a regular cyclist - and I will be travelling solo with all my camping equipment, and other luggage, so would love to feel the encouraging support of those who sponsor me.
My charities are:
COLOSTOMY UK - 85% of donations - who exist to make a positive difference for anyone impacted by any kind of stoma or stoma surgery.
and three Christian charities, that I am personally linked to - 5% each of donations - in recognition of their support for this venture through their publicising my ride and, in one case, offering some personal support in case of emergency:
AGAPE FRANCE via Agapé UK
INTERCONTINENTAL CHURCH SOCIETY
FRIENDS OF THE HOLY LAND
