Running for Sands & John King Brain Tumour Foundation
16400
Many of you will know that I am not a runner. The Hackney Half in 2025 is the furthest I had ever planned to run but I've decided to put myself through something I know will be hell for me in support of these two amazing charities which I know make a difference to so many people in the UK.
Please give generously. I will be running the Richmond marathon on Sunday 13th September 2026 for the two amazing charities below.
John King Brain Tumour Foundation:
In 2021, my father-in-law received a devastating brain cancer diagnosis that rocked our family. Throughout the duration of his treatment journey, Richard started to work with the JKBTF around their projects to improve the wellbeing, prospects and outcomes for other brain tumour patients and their families.
Devastatingly Richard lost his battle with his brain tumour in 2024, but we will continue his legacy in raising funds for Laura and the team at JKBTF and improve Brain Tumour research, care and rehabilitation starting at St George's Tooting and beyond.
SANDS:
In 2025, one of my close friends went through the heart-breaking loss of their newborn baby. Whilst nothing could heal the pain him and his partner were dealing with, he assured me that Sands had been some comfort to them both during their grief. Sands was the charity they suggested I raise for so that other families might also find some support.
