Thames Path Challenge 2023
1584
On the 9th and 10th of September twelve friends are walking the full length of the Thames Path Challenge. The journey starts in Putney and after 100km will finally arrive in Henley. It’s a long meandering route and will mean about 20-22 hours of walking. It’s called the challenge for a good reason….
We are supporting two charities; The Elifar Foundation and Alzheimer’s Research UK. The Elifar Foundation is a small charity set up to provide specialised equipment for disabled children and young people. Whether it be a tryke or a stand up wheel chair it helps families get active and gives children the chance to play and participate in normal life. The charity has no running costs (all the costs are covered by a corporate sponsor) and it is run entirely by volunteers, so crucially every penny goes to straight to where it is intended. To make lives better.
We have seen huge strides in Alzheimer’s treatment over recent months and this is, in part, due to the support of charities like Alzheimers Research. Almost half of us have parents that have been affected by this brutal disease and so the walk is a chance for us to give something back.
Please give what you can and help Tomo, Snash, Meady, Joshy, Tim, Stu, Toby, Mac, Haysy, Shaun, Clive, Ollie, and Chris raise what they can for these fantastic charities.
