Climbing Kilimanjaro!
1487
In September this year James, Andy, Stefan and Phil will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania!
Kilimanjaro is the tallest free standing mountain in the world and the highest point on the African continent, at a height of 5,895m above sea level. We will be taking the Lemosho route up the mountain, which will see our trek last seven days.
Despite this being a challenge we chose to undertake, we set up this fundraising page as we wanted to use the climb as an opportunity to raise money for three amazing charities which are important to us:
*The Sick Children’s Trust - a charity that gives families one less thing to worry about by giving them a place to stay, and someone to talk to, free of charge just minutes from their child’s bedside when they are poorly
*Home Start, Royston - supports local families with children under 9 who are struggling with post-natal depression, isolation, physical and mental health problems, bereavement and many other issues
*Isabel Hospice, Welwyn Garden City - provides support and care to people in eastern Hertfordshire who are affected by life-limiting illnesses through our Hospice at Home, In-Patient Unit, Community Team, Living Well with Isabel programme and our Family and Bereavement support service
All money raised through this page will be split between the three charities and will provide us with extra motivation to complete the challenge (especially on summit day; 14 hours trekking in total with the first 5 hours by headlight in complete darkness...!)
Thanks very much in advance.
