Mud Run Maverick: Every Stage Matters
This year I’m taking on a series of challenges for something much bigger than the finish line.
<br>I’m taking on a multitude of both mentally and physically demanding events this year, from 5K obstacle mud-runs to 24-hour endurance races, to raise money for charities that represent the full journey of health.
<br>Working in healthcare has shown me that health isn’t just about curing illness. It’s about prevention, early intervention, mental wellbeing, living with long-term conditions, and sometimes, providing dignity and support at the end of life.
<br><br>This project reflects all of that. The four series of this campaign are each linked to a different part of that journey — from preventing illness through lifestyle changes, to supporting people living with incurable conditions, to helping those facing challenges no one should go through alone. Over the past year, I’ve made changes to improve my own health, I’ve lost loved ones, I’ve watched children and adults suffer through ill-health, and I’m using these challenges as a way to push myself further, both physically and mentally, whilst raising awareness and funds to support every stage of health. <br><br>Funds raised through this page will be shared across multiple charities that reflect every stage of health, ensuring equal support for prevention, treatment, and care.
