'Til The Cows Come Home 🐄 Cowruña FC's 24-Hour Relay
Last year, our Sunday league football club demonstrated the power of community when 125 runners raised £14,157.42 for Motor Neuron Disease Association, when one of our teammates Dad's was diagnosed with the condition.
Now, the 'Til The Cows Come Home returns for its second edition and is aiming to attract 1000 participants, in the process raising £100,000 for 4 amazing causes, selected due to their direct impact on the Cows community.
In a continuation of our efforts last year, we will be raising money for My Name'5 Doddie, a charity committed to funding research that will go towards finding a cure for MND. This is a cause that remains close to our hearts as a club, as Cess's story was the inspiration behind the founding of the event.
We will also be raising for Dementia UK, who are dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by the condition, Football Beyond Borders, a South London-based community outreach programme that supports disadvantaged young people through the medium of our greatest love, football, and Get The Boys A Lift, a charity centred around a local cafe in South Wales, designed to break down the stigma around mental health and provide a space for people to receive counselling in a warm, welcoming environment.
You will be able to find us at the Bandstand on Clapham Common at 6pm on Friday 14th August, where participants will lap the park and hand over to their teammates, keeping our famous yellow baton moo-ving for 24 hours.
If last year is anything to go by, this will be a beautiful event that will demonstrate how our community can pull together to support one of our own, as well as an opportunity to raise money for the causes that directly impact the Cows.
Please consider donating or signing up to participate and fundraise, to help us put on an inspiring event that will make a difference for our 4 amazing charities.
