Sarah's TCS London Marathon 2026

As many of you know, just over two years ago on the January 28th 2024 we lost my sister in law Elizabeth to secondary breast cancer. She was an amazing person- kind and brave with a heart that touched everyone who knew her.

Throughout her battle, Elizabeth was surrounded by the unwavering love and support of Mike and their boys as well as the rest of her family. Their strength, resilience, and courage in the face of such a difficult journey have been extraordinary.

To honour Elizabeth and the incredible strength of her family, I'm running the 2026 London Marathon to raise funds for two charities that mean a lot to Elizabeth's family- Breast Cancer Now and The Christie Charity.

I'm not a 'natural' runner (to be honest I don't even really like it 🤦‍♀️😆) but a few of you will know that I ran the Birmingham Half Marathon back in May 2024, and lots of you were kind enough to donate to Breast Cancer Now back then.

I was lucky enough to secure a place in the London Marathon through the ballot. After having to defer last year due to injury, I’m getting another chance this time round 🎉

Any donations that were made last year were already sent to Breast Cancer Now - thank you❤️

I’ve left it a bit late to start fundraising this time around because I picked up another injury and wasn’t sure if I’d have to pull out again. Thankfully training is going (mostly!) well, so I’m ready to fully commit, even if I have to crawl the last few miles!

Cancer affects so many lives, and I'm running not only for Elizabeth but for all those who are battling it, for the families who stand by them, and for those we've lost too soon. Every step I take will be a tribute to their courage.
