Wight to Coburg

This spring, I’ll walk 711 miles from the Isle of Wight to Coburg, Germany—one step at a time, across countries, for causes that truly matter.

I’m raising funds for Freshwater Independent Lifeboat, an incredible local charity that saves lives along our coastline, and The Lily Foundation, which fights mitochondrial disease—a rare and life-limiting condition affecting my nephew’s best friend, one of only a handful of people in the country living with this diagnosis.

Freshwater Independent Lifeboat is a cornerstone of safety in our coastal community. As a volunteer crew, they respond to emergencies at sea, often in the toughest conditions, ensuring no one is left behind. Meanwhile, The Lily Foundation is dedicated to transforming the lives of those affected by mitochondrial disease. They fund groundbreaking research, offer vital family support, and give hope for future treatments. Together, these two charities remind us how every step we take can save a life or spark a cure.

From April 12th to June 6th, I’ll be walking a carefully planned route, covering between 12 and 20 miles each day, with rest days built in. Each day’s route is set, and there will be checkpoints along the way. I’ll have a vehicle as a support and safety backup, and I’ll be carrying a first aid kit. While we’ll mainly stay in the vehicle, if anyone can offer a place to stay along the route, that would be a huge help in keeping costs down. Everyone is welcome to join me for any section of the walk, and I’m seeking sponsorships to cover travel, food, and accommodation. I’ll also be providing regular updates online so you can follow along. I hope you’ll come along for the journey!
