Sixes at the Summit - Highest Altitude Cricket Match Record

In February 2027, a group of 45 of us will be embarking on a two-week expedition to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Highest Altitude Cricket Match, played at 6,400m on Ojos del Salado in Chile, the highest volcano on Earth.

This expedition is more than a world‑record attempt. It’s a reminder of what can happen when people come together with purpose to push the boundaries. This creates belief and belief creates change.

Whilst planning the 2025 annual charity day, I started to get the feeling that we could do so much more to grow our fundraising total, something really bold (and a bit mad!) - as soon as I saw this record, I knew straightaway that we just had to take it on!

We’re taking on this challenge to raise £200,000 for two charities that are doing vital work:

🏏 A Day for Thorpey Fund (Mind)

Thorpey’s Bat & Chat programe helps remove the stigma and provides a safe space to discuss mental health.

As we climb the mountain, we’re honouring everyone who faces their own invisible ones every day, promoting cricket as a means to keeping people connected.

🌟 Rays of Sunshine

Rays of Sunshine brighten the lives of seriously ill children aged three to 18 across the UK by granting their magical wishes and providing ongoing support for their families.

This expedition is a once‑in‑a‑lifetime opportunity for us and literally, a dream come true.
