Running the London Marathon in Memory of My Loved Ones
13078
I’m running the London Marathon in memory of two very special people in my life.
I actually entered the ballot for a place in the London Marathon ten years ago – long before I lost my beloved wife Jacqui and my dad Brian (Lou).
Watching the marathon every year has inspired me more and more, and now being able to run it myself makes it feel like a once-in-a-lifetime achievement – and even more special because I’m running in their memory.
I’m running this marathon in memory of Jacqui, who sadly lost her battle with melanoma, and my Dad, who lived with Alzheimer’s.
Losing them has been really tough, but I want to turn that sadness into something positive.
I’m raising funds for:
• Melanoma UK – to support patients, fund vital research, and raise awareness of this aggressive skin cancer.
• Alzheimer’s UK – to provide care and support for people living with dementia and their families, and fund crucial research into prevention and treatment.
Every mile I run will be for them – and for everyone else affected by these diseases. Your support means the world and will help fund research, care, and hope for people going through similar struggles.
Even a small donation makes a big difference, and it really keeps me going as I train for the marathon.
Please help me make every mile count.
