Fran's 50 miles for her 50th year!

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your donations! It's July and I am pleased to say that 30 miles is looking very close...only 100 lengths away!

 It's been great getting to the pool regularly and I'm starting to get to know some of the regulars (all of whom are much faster swimmers than me)!

For those who don't know...I have set myself a target for my 50th Year - to swim 50 miles (that's 3,200 lengths of my local pool) to raise awareness and funds for two fantastic charities. I would be really honoured if you would support me by donating via this page.

Tearfund is a global charity working to bring lasting change to communities in 50 of the world's poorest countries. It's a charity really close to my heart as I worked there for many years and saw first-hand the impact of the work. The belief that there can be an end to poverty seems naive in a world with so much pain and suffering, but Tearfund really does bring lasting change, so please do donate!

Moving closer to home, The Meeting Place is based in Bookham, run by local people and offering practical, emotional and spiritual support across the community. They run a Community Fridge, a Language Hub, a weekly Coffee Shop and an Anna Chaplaincy for older people. Support this wonderful expression of compassion and care in my local community.
