Thanks for taking the time to visit my givewheel page!
As some of you may know already, I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma back in December 2025 after finding a lump in my neck at the end of September. Hodgkins lymphoma is a type of blood cancer that affects the white blood cells that help the body fight infection (lymphocytes).
I started my Chemotherapy Treatment at the end of January, of which a common side effect is hair loss. I have started to experience some hair thinning already, so I thought it would good opportunity to buzz my hair to donate to The Little Princess Trust (a charity who provide free real hair wigs to children and young people experiencing cancer).
I know myself, and so many close to me have lost loved ones to Cancer. So I’d like to do this in memory of them – particularly our beloved Uncle Robin who we lost to Colon Cancer over the Christmas period 🤍 Hopefully this will be a good opportunity to raise money towards some great charities who are in the fight against cancer & to provide the best support and care.
My lovely fiancé (Dan), sister (Jo), brother-in-law (Jake), my father-in-law-to-be(!) (Mark) and some wonderful friends Ben and Gwyn and potentially some others 👀 (watch this space!), have really kindly said that they would get alongside me in doing this so that I won't be alone. So please do support them! It’s likely that the 'big batch buzz' will happen in the first week of March before my 4th round of chemo and before too much of my hair falls out!
I have chosen to equally split the donations between 4 wonderful charities:
Weston Park Cancer Charity – I worked for this charity a few years ago, and have seen first hand as both an employee & and now as a patient, the care and support they provide. They work closely to support the Weston Park Cancer Centre who provide leading cancer care, treatment & research.
Lymphoma Action – Their resources were so helpful, especially just after my diagnosis when there was a lot of overwhelming information, unknowns & uncertainties. They help people with lymphoma and their families by providing reliable information, and they support doctors and nurses so that they can provide the best care possible to people.
Sheffield Hospitals Charity – I am getting all my treatment at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital which this charity supports. I have already received such great care from the staff and support they offer. This charity helps Sheffield’s hospitals, community teams, mental health and specialist services to cover costs their NHS budgets aren't able to. They fund support for patients and staff, life-changing research and more.
Cancer Research UK – the biggest cancer charity in the UK but also the largest independent charity in the world that is dedicated to researching cancer.
All money donated will be given to these charities so please help us to raise some money for incredible causes if you are able :) Thank you so much for taking the time to read all this! Much love everyone x
