Alex’s Big Walk South

Welcome to my fundraising page. So, this year, between May and July, I’m going to be attempting one of my long-held ambitions… to walk approximately 1,250 miles (around 2,000 km) from John O’Groats to Land’s End… eek!! I plan to mostly follow known trails including John O’groats trail, Great Glen Way, West Highland Way, Pennine Way, Heart of England Way, Cotswolds Way, Two Moors Way and part of the South-West coastal path… camping most of the way (though happy to be put up if I’m passing near folk!🤗). I’ll put a link up to my trip on Polarsteps (polarsteps.com/AlexSmith47) in due course, which I’ll make public, so you can see how my journey progresses…

I’m using this endeavour to raise money for two charities close to my heart. Macmillan Nurses provided support for my amazing mum during her terminal cancer, which meant the world to our family. I also live near Glencoe and regularly see the vital, life-saving work of Glencoe Mountain Rescue… they are true heroes! I would so love to use this experience to generate funds for both of these incredible charities.
