Squirrel Island Discs is a Bristol-based podcast exploring the stories behind the music people love, while raising funds for two UK charities supporting music therapy and accessible music-making.
12017
Squirrel Island Discs is a podcast, recorded in Squirrel Studios in Bristol, where people tell the stories of their lives, with their favourite and music as the backdrop.
Each episode features a guest choosing records that mark important moments in their life. Those choices lead to conversations about where they’ve come from, what’s shaped them, and the experiences that have mattered to them.
The project is deliberately simple and community-focused. It’s about people, stories, and shared experience, with music running through it.
This fundraising page supports two UK charities whose work reflects those values:
Soundwell Music Therapy Trust supports people with physical and mental health needs through structured music therapy programmes.
Open Up Music works to make music-making accessible for young people with disabilities, enabling participation and collaboration through music.
There’s no target and no end date for this fundraiser. If you enjoy the podcast and would like to contribute, any donation - large or small - will go directly to these charities and support their ongoing work.
Thanks for listening and supporting the project.
