Ezra and Alfie take on Hyrox Youngstars
11971
As many of you will already know, on the 27th March 2025, after three rounds of brutal chemotherapy and months spent in hospital, Ezra reached a life-saving milestone — his stem cell transplant.
Fast forward to now, Ezra's recovery has been amazing and he's managed to return to most aspects of normal life. Now he wants to give back to those that helped him so on the 28th March 2026, just one year (and 1 day) post transplant, Ezra will be taking on the HYROX Youngstars fitness challenge with his best mate, Alfie. Alfie has stood by Ezra through every high and low, from regular visits on the ward to shaving his own hair when Ezra lost his, Alfie has been there every step of the way.
So what is Hyrox Youngstars? HYROX Youngstars is a fun but challenging fitness race for 10–11 year olds, combining running with age-appropriate functional workouts that test strength and endurance, in a supportive, high-energy environment.
This challenge is about so much more than fitness. It marks one year since Ezra’s transplant — a year of strength, resilience, and determination — and it’s their way of giving back to the incredible charities that supported Ezra and our family throughout the toughest journey of our lives.
The boys are pushing themselves in honour of everyone who helped Ezra get here.
If you’re able to support them, please consider sponsoring their challenge. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference and help other families facing similar battles.
The charities Ezra has chosen to support are:
DKMS – Saving lives by recruiting stem cell donors and giving patients a second chance through life-changing transplants.
PASIC – Who were amazing during our stay in Sheffield providing food, accommodation and support for parents and patients whilst receiving treatment. PASIC also continue to offer support and family opportunities outside of hospital, with days out and activities.
Young Lives vs Cancer – Who supported the family continually with accommodation and provisions whilst on the ward in Nottingham.
SpecialEffect – The providers of the now famous 'Ezbot' which enabled Ezra to continue to interact with friends and attend school from his hospital bed.
Any funds raised will be split equally between the charities.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support 💙
