This fundraising page is created in honour and loving memory of Adam Dracott, a much-loved husband, father, son, brother, grandson and friend. His loss leaves a huge and painful void for his family, his wide circle of friends, and the rowing community who loved him so deeply. Above all, no one feels this loss more profoundly than Caroline and his cherished young children, Connie and Cillian.
Adam was truly one of a kind. Behind his warm, cheeky and confident nature was a man of great generosity, determination and integrity. Intelligent and resourceful, he used his many signature strengths to support others whenever they needed him. He was a thoughtful, trusted friend and always so true to himself.
In recent years, Adam became a devoted father, and when faced with his terminal diagnosis, he felt immense gratitude for having found the love of his life, Caroline, and for being able to spend such quality time with Connie and Cillian, who each carry Adam’s cheeky smile, the sparkle in his eyes and his boundless energy. The treasured time he invested as a father will be his lasting gift to his children.
Just five months ago, Adam and Caroline were dealt the devastating news of his bowel cancer diagnosis. With little time to prepare, they faced invasive surgery, gruelling treatments, setbacks and heartbreak with immense bravery and quiet dignity. Throughout their journey, three charities provided vital support. Caroline and Adam’s family would be deeply grateful for any donations made in Adam’s memory, which will be shared between the following organisations:
Marie Curie - Providing essential end-of-life care for people with terminal illnesses and their families, offering nursing at home, hospice support, and emotional guidance.
The Ruth Strauss Foundation - Supporting families facing an incurable cancer diagnosis with vital pre-bereavement emotional support and guidance..
The Mulberry Centre, Isleworth - A lifeline for anyone affected by cancer, offering comfort, hope, and essential supportive services.
Thank you for helping to honour Adam’s life and for supporting the charities that supported him, Caroline, Connie and Cillian when they needed it most.
Finally, Adam's family would love to gather memories that celebrate Adam's life. If you have any photos, stories or a few words to share, please feel free to post them here.
