Celebrating Ol

The friends, colleagues, family and those who provided care and treatment are celebrating the life of Oliver Thomas, who passed away in August 2025.

Our fundraising is to add to the legacies left by Ol to two of the charities that are special to him:

• The Christie NHS Foundation Trust: Ol developed a very strong bond with those he came into contact with whilst having surgery and treatment for glioblastomas. The Christie Charity provides enhanced services over and above those of the NHS, facilitating inspirational cancer care to over 50,000 people each year.

• The Lowry Centre Trust: For the last twelve years of his life, Ol led Lowry's talented kitchen team as Executive Head Chef. Lowry makes the joy and benefits of the arts felt by people and families in its community of Salford and he was very proud to contribute to this. Lowry provided much support to Ol following his diagnosis.

Lowry are dedicating the legacy that Ol has left to them to support the recruitment and early career development of a young person from Salford with a chef placement in the kitchen of Pier Eight. All funds raised will be gratefully received and support, equally, Lowry and the work of The Christie Charity.
