Art Fundraiser For Palestinians in Gaza

THE STORY BEHIND THE FUNDRAISER

The idea of creating this raffle came from a conversation between one of the organisers (Atmos) and a Palestinian in Gaza called Mohammed. He mentioned that another artist had organised one to support him and his family in the past. He asked Atmos if it was possible to help him by arranging another one. Mohammed was living in Nuseirat but has since moved towards Al-Mawasi for safety. Previously, he has said that he wants to leave Gaza and pursue a bachelor’s degree in artificial intelligence.

After this conversation, Atmos searched for other people to help him with organising an art fundraiser to support Palestinians (such as Mohammed) in Gaza and a collective of volunteers was formed by Sabzi, Brin, Priya, and Atmos to make this raffle happen–this collective is now known as Art Aid Kit. Art Aid Kit is a collective of artists and creative individuals who want to facilitate positive change using art as the vehicle.

Over the course of months, we connected with artists who wanted to be involved and generously donate at least one artwork for the raffle. We also spoke to different charities to see what was possible and how we could organise a raffle in a way that was legally sound while supporting a charity in the most beneficial way. We connected with Ace Ambrose who is a Palestinian living in the UK and is the UK Chair of Branches of the Levant. After some discussions, we decided this was the charity that we wanted to support. Branches of the Levant is a non-profit organisation who raise funds to distribute aid, food, and water across Gaza. Branches of the Levant is a registered non-profit organisation in the United States of America (USA).

This raffle is organised by 'Art Aid Kit' (the ‘Organiser') on behalf of 'Branches of the Levant' (the ‘Charity’)–formally known as ‘Life Without Borders’.

Please note that the P&P costs listed in the Terms and Conditions are estimates only. Winners are responsible for paying the full actual costs of P&P in order for a prize to be delivered to them.

All proceeds raised (after any applicable transaction and administrative costs) will be donated to the Branches of the Levant via GiveWheel, in accordance with their T&Cs: https://www.givewheel.com/terms/.

75% of the proceeds will support aid efforts in Gaza, working directly with local teams on the ground to assist those in need. 25% of the proceeds will be used to support Palestinians directly, with funds being donated to their GoFundMe or Chuffed pages so that they can purchase food/water or use the money for other purposes to support themselves.
