Action on Postpartum Psychosis is the national charity for women and families affected by postpartum psychosis (PP) - a severe mental illness which begins suddenly following childbirth. Symptoms include hallucinations and delusions, often with mania, depression or confusion. Over 1400 women experience PP each year in the UK (1 to 2 in every 1000 mothers).

Action Tutoring unlocks the potential of children and young people who are facing disadvantage. We are tackling the attainment gap head-on by forging partnerships with schools nationwide. Our trained volunteer tutors are empowered to enable pupils to make meaningful academic progress, opening doors to future opportunities.

Acton Homeless Concern is a local charity providing basic needs services and advice and support for homeless and other disadvantaged people. These free services are provided at TWO drop-in day centres in Acton: Emmaus House in Berrymead Gardens and the Damien Centre in Church Road. The centres are run by staff and supported by volunteers.

Every night people sleep on the streets of Oxford, beneath its dreaming spires. Many end up there after leaving local prisons without support. ACT exists to change this. Our welcoming community includes people with lived experience of prison, street homelessness or addiction. Through street and prison outreach, meals, mentoring and housing, we’re here to help people rebuild their lives.
