The Principle Trust Children’s Charity help children from Yorkshire who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, have life-limiting conditions, or who have experienced poverty, trauma, or abuse. We enable them to escape their troubles with their families & create valuable, happy memories that last a lifetime. We do this by providing families with a free weeklong respite holidays.
The Principle Trust Children’s Charity help children from Yorkshire who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, have life-limiting conditions, or who have experienced poverty, trauma, or abuse. We enable them to escape their troubles with their families and create valuable, happy memories that last a lifetime. We do this by providing families with a free weeklong respite holidays to our charity owned holiday homes. Our aims are to improve their mental health and well-being as well as being a relief from poverty and helping improve family relationships.
Thanks to our 100% donations policy every penny raised directly benefits the children and their families.
Child poverty in our region is at its highest level in over 20 years. In Yorkshire alone, 400,000 children—31% of the region's youth—are living in poverty. The highest rates of childhood disability occur among the poorest families. At The Principle Trust, we believe every child, regardless of health, ability, or financial situation, deserves a fair, inclusive, and happy life.
