Your Impact

Why your contribution is so important?
The Butterfly AVM Charity is the first specific AVM charity in the UK. Our Charity has greatly helped the lives of AVM sufferers and their families who previously to our formation had no one to turn to for advice and help. In the first eleven years the Butterfly AVM Charity has raised funds that have been used to fund research and we maximise results by not just donating but employing researchers in conjunction with Great Ormond Street Hospital, University College of London and The Francis Crick institute that help maximise the effect of the funds we raise.
We are very proud of this partnership, in-fact our researchers discovered the first genetic mutations that are responsible for AVMs! We will continue our funding and with further breakthrough’s we hope that greater understanding can result in more definitive treatments to enhance the lives of AVM sufferers.
