Talk Club

Talk Club is a talking and listening club for men, offering talking groups, sports groups and therapy to help keep you mentally fit. It’s a simple medicine that starts with asking – How are you? Out of 10? By checking in regularly with yourself and other men, Talk Club creates a community that we are all missing in today’s world.

Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50 in the UK.
76% of UK suicides are male. A man takes his own life every 90 minutes in the UK.
Talk Club wants to change this.

Talk Club is a registered men’s mental health charity providing Talk & Listen, Talk & Exercise and Therapy Group sessions. Founded in 2019 (and gaining charity status in 2021) it has grown from a single talking group into a force for good. Our groups are safe, confidential spaces for men to be open without judgment or shame to help them become mentally fit.

Many men don’t find it that easy to talk about their feelings. To many, it’s a foreign language they don’t know how to speak. So we try to help them. By asking them:

'How are you? Out of 10?'

Every session starts and ends this way. This framework unlocks conversation by giving men a way to measure their feelings and begin to describe why.

We want to continue to grow Talk & Listen, Talk & Exercise, and Talk Club Therapy groups. These groups help support and encourage more men to take charge of their mental health and this, in turn, saves lives.

Your Impact

We have over 100 peer-to-peer talking and listening or exercising groups set up in the UK. In 2023, these groups supported over 3500 men across the UK. The average check-in numbers were at 5.9 and average check-out numbers at 7.4. On average, that’s a 15% increase, proving that our Talk Clubs actively help men to understand how they’re feeling, why they may feel that way, and provide the tools for men to build resilience and improve their mental health.

Talk Club is taking meaningful steps towards addressing the pressing public health concern of male suicide in the UK. Every suicide has an emotional and economic ripple effect across communities and generations (the economic cost per suicide is close to £2 million in the UK). The same applies for the positive ripple effects attending a Talk Club has for a man not only for themselves but their family, friends, work colleagues, and broader community.

Talk Club saves lives. Since our founding we have had over 100 men tell us that they are only here because of the community we have created.
