Spiral Creative Arts Therapies is a Glasgow-based charity, established in 2020, dedicated to supporting children and young people through arts-based therapeutic activities. We specialise in working with those in kinship care or facing emotional and social challenges, offering a creative and compassionate alternative to traditional talking therapies. Our small core team—Angela Bialek (Director & Founder), Kae Sakurai (Finance Officer), Barry Robertson (Development & Admin Officer), and Liz Young (Lead Therapist & Project Co-ordinator)—is supported by 11 qualified therapists and community artists. Together, we create safe, expressive spaces where young people can explore their feelings, build resilience, and connect with others through the healing power of art.

Your Impact

Between 2024 and 2025, Spiral Creative Arts Therapies delivered 521 therapeutic sessions, including individual, group, and dyadic formats, supporting 28 young people with the help of 11 dedicated therapists. Our work led to meaningful outcomes: 85% of participants reported stronger relationships with family and peers, and 75% showed improved school attendance and engagement. We saw significant progress in emotional regulation, communication skills, confidence, and community involvement. Our focus areas included strengthening family relationships, enhancing engagement in education, building self-esteem, reducing isolation, and improving interpersonal communication. These results reflect the transformative impact of our creative therapies, which offer vulnerable children a safe space to heal, grow, and connect. Continued sponsorship will help us reach more young people and ensure they receive the support they deserve. Thank you for your support!
