We are an East London based charity that helps people with drug or alcohol addictions and complex needs to achieve lasting recovery and a more fulfilling life.
For over 50 years we have met the needs of our local community, serving the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in society, motivated by our inclusive Christian ethos. People coming to us often have multiple and complex needs. Many will have experienced homelessness, poverty, mental illness and the criminal justice system.
We aim to address peoples’ needs holistically – from housing, employability, health to social connections – all of which need careful attention to make sure people recover in the long-term.
Through our services, and by working with others, we aim to provide the UK’s most effective and compassionate recovery programme.
Our mission is to enable people with complex drug and alcohol addictions to achieve lasting recovery and a more fulfilling life.
For people in recovery, we we run a residential recovery programme, personal development and training services for people in recovery, alongside two social enterprises and eight charity shops.
Our pioneering approach embodies best-practice around addiction recovery by treating the whole person and their needs.
We also run a flexible support for homeless people, and we have a supported housing programme who help people transition into long-term accommodation.
As homelessness increases and people continue to face addiction, SCT takes on these two issues together. Your donation to SCT will support people in recovery from homelessness and addiction.
