About Saracens Wheelchair Rugby Club

Tags:

Saracens Wheelchair Rugby Club provides opportunities for players with disabilities to join in this amazing sport, enjoy competition and make friends. The Club was created as Hatfield Comets and then changed name in recognition of the support we received from Saracens Foundation. We are now independently financed and managed from the professional side, but remain part of the Saracens family.
As a CASC we are open to eligible players and also volunteers who help make the club a success.

However, that is not cheap as we have to pay for hall fees, inner tubes to replace punctures, tyres and of course the specialist chairs do take a battering and don't come cheap to repair and replace. So your help would be really welcome.

Your Impact

We provide the opportunity for people who would be unable to play running rugby due to disability to enjoy playing wheelchair rugby fives (WR5). This improves, health and fitness, mental well being and reduces social isolation. First and foremost we aim to provide a welcome where everyone regardless of disability, level of fitness and skill is welcome to join our family. We provide equipment, coaching, training fun and competition as well as a warm welcoming environment. The players also find that the sport helps with other aspects of their lives and is increasingly seenas a way of improving or maintaining functionality and well being.
