Future Academy fights for the lives of refugee children.We use the power of language and the magic of sport to create hope and opportunity for some of the world's forgotten children.We provide education, sport and enrichment activities for refugee, stateless and internally displaced children in Lebanon.All of the children we work with have been affected by war. Many were born in a refugee camp and most will always live there.Our curriculum is innovative and designed to meet the specific needs of our students. We use games as a tool to improve academic performance, build resilience and make learning engaging and fun.We have 3 main goals:To improve access to higher education and employment,To develop the strong emotional foundations needed to thrive and be mentally healthy andTo provide opportunities for friendship and fun.
The impact of pour provision is an improvement in literacy skills, numeracy and general knowledge; enhanced communication and social skills; improved self esteem, self reliance and the capacity to self advocate; increased confidence, emotional well being and resilience. The longer term impact will be increased employment opportunities enabling students to be active participants in a changing world.
