The humanitarian situation in Ukraine has surpassed the worst-case scenarios predicted. Many civilians in Ukraine have been killed and injured and we are expecting more casualties, mass displacement and soaring humanitarian needs.

More than 3.5 million people have already fled their homes. Leaving behind jobs, belongings and loved ones, they need food, water and other vital supplies. CARE is especially concerned about the safety of women and girls, who are particularly at risk in an active conflict situation like this. Including from violence and sexual exploitation.

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) charities, including CARE, and their local partners are responding in Ukraine and neighbouring countries. They are working to meet the immediate needs of people fleeing by providing food, water and other vital relief.

We need to act now to save lives.

Your donation will help provide food, water and other vital supplies

CARE is already working with partner organisation People in Need to provide assistance inside Ukraine as quickly as possible. The first trucks with relief supplies are already on their way, transporting durable food, hygiene items, nappies, sleeping bags and mats.

People in Need is one of the largest non-governmental organisations in Eastern Europe and has provided humanitarian aid in the affected regions of Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict in 2014.
