We train medical professionals to provide safe, skilled surgical care in countries impacted by conflict and catastrophe.

Why we do it – our vision
Our vision is a world where safe, skilled surgical care is available to all.

Your Impact

Our story
Five billion people worldwide lack access to safe, skilled surgical care. Healthcare deteriorates further and faster during war and catastrophic events, such as earthquakes or floods.
Injuries like shrapnel, blast and crush wounds are complex, specialist surgical skills are lacking, medical resources are scarce, surgical teams are stretched thin, and hospital emergency rooms are poorly managed.
Hospitals are also often targeted as a weapon of war, inflicting further chaos.
When volunteering his trauma surgery skills at times of need in Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, Nepal and beyond, our Co-Founder David Nott started teaching at night. He turned his students into calm, confident, multi-skilled trauma surgeons, equipped to save more lives against the odds.
Today, that’s what we do. We train medical professionals to become multi-skilled surgeons that save more lives in countries impacted by war and catastrophe.
Since the David Nott Foundation was created in 2015, we have trained over 2,300 surgeons and anaesthetists, delivered 77 courses and visited 18 countries. Creating a network of skilled, surgical lifesavers in the world’s most dangerous corners.
