Child.org is a Nairobi-based, UK-registered charity working since 2007 to improve maternal and child health in Kenya via digital and community-based approaches. We work with parents, communities and government in Kenya to provide life-saving antenatal and post-natal health information, connect at-risk mums and babies with the healthcare services they need and work with local health authorities to advocate for and improve the quality of care.

Your Impact

In the last 3 years, Child.org's Team Mum has supported over 6,000 mums-to-be and their newborn babies in Meru. Thanks to your brilliant support, the commitment of our team on the ground in Meru, and a fantastic relationship with the local Ministry of Health, Team Mum has:
- increased antenatal care attendence amongst mums in Igembe Central, and increased awareness of key danger signs in pregnancy
- increased the number of safe deliveries for mums-to-be (more women giving birth in hospital or with skilled birth attendants present)
- engaged more male partners in outreach sessions to understand how they can better support their pregnant partners (this is really important in regions like Meru, where society is patriarchal and pregnancy is often a taboo topic)

These behaviour changes, and increased awareness and knowledge around pregnancy, coupled with practical advice, is saving lives, and will continue to do so.
