About Carer's Link Lancashire

Carers Link Lancashire supports over 11,000 carers in East Lancashire who provide help with household tasks, personal care and emotional support to a family member or friend who could not manage without that support. We offer peer support groups, Carers Assessments (on behalf of Lancashire County Council) so we can signpost and refer to needed services, affordable activities and day trips for valuable 'me time', and much more.

We support carers from the age of 6, providing our Young Carers 1-1 support, fun activities for respite and to form friendships with other young carers, age appropriate courses around conditions and illnesses, and support in education.

We believe in a world where carers feel valued as individuals and for their contribution to society, and your donations can help us continue the work we do in raising awareness of unpaid carers, and providing them with much needed support.

Your Impact

According to the 2011 census, there are over 42,000 carers in East Lancashire. Three out of every five people in the UK will become a carer at some point in the lifetime.

The 2021 Census shows that there are around 5 million carers in the UK, around 1 in every 8 people. As of 2024 (Carers UK State Of Caring Survey), 1.2 million unpaid carers are living in poverty. It is estimated that carers save the UK economy £132 billion every year.
